The Jackson Fork

HISTORY

A long time ago before this building was called the Jackson Fork Inn it was a very modern dairy barn, built around 1938. At the time it was built and put into use, it was the most modern dairy barn in the area, complete with indoor plumbing. At full occupancy the barn could house one hundred dairy cows. Today the restaurant can seat 100 people and has seven rooms for overnight accommodations.

The name "Jackson Fork Inn" comes from a large hayfork that was used to haul hay into the loft area of the barn. An original fork is on display hanging from the outside of the barn, as it would have looked many years ago. The Jackson Fork Inn opened its doors for business in February 1988.

Located nine miles from Ogden and 45 miles from Salt Lake City, The Jackson Fork Inn is in an ideal location to get out of town, but be close to town. Snowbasin, Powder Mountain and Nordic Valley Ski resorts are only minutes away. Deer Valley and Park City are an hours drive away, and Alta, Snowbird, Solitude and Brighten are an hour and a half away.

The Jackson Fork Inn is located in the Ogden Valley Recreation Area, which is a bedroom community of Ogden. Many of its residence work in the Ogden and Salt Lake areas. It is very scenic with mountains, aspen and pine trees. An abundance of wildlife are seen and heard throughout the valley. Once you have stayed here you will remember it always.
